Johnnie Walker is co-Founder of Rooled, which provides outsourced accounting, fractional CFO, and tax services to venture-backed and high-growth companies.

Johnnie was previously VP Sales with inDinero, providing fully outsourced accounting solutions to start-up, emerging high-growth, and established companies where he led sales and BD activities nationwide for the company. Previously, at tempCFO, Johnnie led the East Coast office and provided strategic CFO advisory services to technology ventures and other businesses.

Johnnie is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in impact investing at Columbia Business School also advises several startup businesses, focusing on financial management and investment strategy. Educated in business and engineering, Johnnie has held senior roles in the defense electronics industry, venture capital, and non-profit sectors.

David P. Johnson is the Director of Rooled. His entrepreneurial journey started as an accountant for two Big Four accounting firms. He switched to managing rock bands for ten years. Financial advising called him, and he built one of the first outsourced accounting and finance service firms in the country, tempCFO, which advised 4,000 companies over 15 years. After David sold tempCFO, he has been advising entrepreneurs and businesses. David is proud to work with the best-of-the-best in outsourced accounting, tax, and financial advisory that is the Rooled team. When he’s not advising founders and CEOs, David is skiing wherever there is fresh powder.

Jason Granado is co-founder of Rooled, which provides outsourced accounting, fractional CFO, and tax services to venture-backed and high-growth companies. Jason has been involved in the outsource accounting industry for 17+ years.

Jason was previously Director of Accounting Services for the San Jose office within inDinero/ TempCFO for 15 years, providing fully outsourced accounting solutions to start-up, emerging high-growth, and established companies where he led the TempCFO division of the accounting team to coordinate and manage the staffing and client relationships with clients, while also acting as a Senior controller for a group of clients he managed directly and provided.

Jason graduated from San Jose State University where he received his Bachelor of Science, Accounting degree and held controller positions in Bay Area startups earlier in his career.

Bryce Allen is the Director of Tax at Rooled, Inc., and he is in his 15th year of public accounting firm experience. Born and raised in the South Bay Area, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at San Jose State University, and upon graduation immediately began working with many Silicon Valley start-up and small business clients.

Bryce notes that, “the primary reason why I love being a tax professional in the Bay Area is the opportunity to work with innovative enterprises, advising and taking care of their tax compliance and planning while witnessing their development and cutting-edge technology. When I see my clients making positive, world-changing headlines a few years out, I feel privileged to have played even a small part in their success.”

R&D tax credit guidance is one of the key areas of Bryce’s expertise.

Helga Ames has been part of Rooled from the very beginning, helping to lay the foundations for Rooled’s internal finance.  Utilizing her decades of experience in administration of financial systems, she customized the generic NetSuite platform to fit the Rooled services organization’s needs.  After integrating payroll, banking and payment processing systems and more, she now acts as the Internal Controller for Rooled.

Helga was previously Internal Controller at TempCFO/InDinero for 6 years, and held financial and systems positions in defense electronics, computer hardware, and logistics software industries for two decades prior.

She is a passionate traveler (often to her native Germany), sports addict (recently practicing tennis again after a long pause), and proud mother of four adult children.

Helga graduated from Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, and later attended San Jose State and UC Santa Cruz.

Bryan is a Senior Controller and rescuer of abandoned over-sized dogs. His previous work experience is broad, starting in tax and migrating to public company controller work before working with early-stage companies. He strives to aim startups towards IPO or exit/due diligence. Formality of public company reporting/audited financial statements with start up flexibility. In Bryan’s view, doing things well early on is more economical than cleaning up a mess when needed. He hopes to take some credit for helping to launch three contributing members to society, all of whom exercise more than he does.

Sana is an Accounting and Finance Specialist with 15+ years of experience with venture backed startups ranging from technology, biotech, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. She thrives as a part of the Rooled team as it allows her to gaze through companies and provide innovative solutions from an accounting, strategic, and technical consulting viewpoint to make an impact.

Outside of work, she has two daughters who she loves to be outdoors with and travel. She’s part of the girl scout leadership team, sits on the school district’s site council, and loves to lend a hand to non-profits and community work.

Steve is a senior controller at Rooled, providing outsourced accounting services for startups, emerging high-growth and established companies. He is highly experienced in working with technology companies, SaaS companies and Fintech companies. Steve has been working in accounting consulting since 2010, with previous accounting experience at Montgomery Professional Services and Global Upside as a Client Controller and Director. Prior to 2010, he completed years of accounting at various levels. He has an MBA from Regis University and a Bachelor’s in Finance from San Jose State University. 

Maria oversees the accounting process for clients, including month-end close review, preparation of financial reporting, and provides information for tax preparation. Her knowledge and experience extends across various business types, including SaaS, services, retail, and manufacturing. With 20+ years of experience in the accounting field, she is a results-oriented leader with focus on service, communication, and process improvement. Maria enjoys witnessing businesses succeed and is passionate about people, family, and outdoor activities.

Jeff is a Senior Controller at Rooled. He has 25+ years of controller experience in multiple industries and 10 years of NetSuite implementation and hands-on experience, making him Rooled’s go-to NetSuite subject matter expert. Jeff is a graduate of Upper Iowa University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in accounting with honors.

Tina is a Senior Controller at Rooled. She brings 15+ years of accounting experience, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.

Ben is a Senior Controller with Rooled, and a proud hat owner. He’s been working with and in start-ups for 25 years. In more than 20 years working in accounting and finance in Silicon Valley, he has helped startups start up; organized, reorganized, and streamlined accounting departments; led project teams; provided business intelligence; among other things. He is an expert on collecting, analyzing, and presenting data succinctly, allowing for quick decision making. 

Vivian is a Controller at Rooled, as well as the office’s coffee connoisseur. She’s been operating in the accounting industry for 8 years. Before joining the Rooled team, she worked previously with tempCFO/Indinero for 6 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Jose State University. In her free time, Vivian loves to read, exercise, and hang out with her 2 dogs.
